Heritage-3 preamp system unlocks unlimited sonic potential
Bassists of all stripes and styles will surely appreciate the Marcus Miller V3's amazing tonal range. It's equipped with a Heritage-3 active/passive preamp system, which allows you to get as surgical with your sound as you like. Leave it in passive mode and you'll have control over master volume and master tone, as well as a pickup blend control for dialing in the perfect balance of thump and bark. Engage active mode and you're rewarded with three bands of EQ, with a sweepable midrange that makes it easy to cement your place in any mix.
Ā
Bone nut and steel bridge for superior tone from tip to tail
Superior components like a real bone nut and a steel bridge are more reasons why the Sire Marcus Miller V3 bass stands out in its class. Bone transmits vibrations better than inexpensive plastic nuts, giving you better note definition and attack. The same is essentially true for its all-steel bridge, which enhances your tone beyond what inferior alloy bridges can offer. Also, the bridge allows for both body-through and bridge-through string loading, giving you one more option for customizing your bass setup to your preferences.
Ā
Marcus Miller, a world-renowned jazz musician, composer, producer, and most importantly, bassist, joined forces with Sire and over the course of several years created a groundbreaking bass concept that is now making its way to our shores. What's groundbreaking about this collaboration is not just the bass itself, but also includes components such as development, production and distribution, all set to make the price of this exceptional instrument accessible to all. Now Sire has introduced a new generation of the instrument - thanks to customer feedback and active listening to players, even the smallest flaws have been fine-tuned and already hilarious features have been perfected.
Ā
The bass is based on the Jazz Bass type and is further enriched with Miller's own features. The Indonesian mahogany body is more commonly seen on instruments in much higher price ranges, but this too is part of the aforementioned concept. The wood has a typical full sound with a distinctive bass. The rosewood fingerboard with a real bone fretboard gives a warmer and rounder tone with clean highs. The edges of the fingerboard are now rounded for a more comfortable grip. A specially designed cob with solid saddles allows the strings to be pulled through the body for a tighter, more stable sound.
